Australia’s Global Talent Independent (GTI) Program, also referred to as the Global Talent Visa Program, is designed to attract the world’s top talent and high-value businesses to Australia, aiding in economic growth. The Australian government is focused on attracting exceptional individuals and enterprises, bringing their capital, ideas, and networks into the country.
The GTI Program offers a streamlined immigration pathway for highly-skilled professionals, allowing them to live and work in Australia permanently. Covering 10 future-focused sectors, this program aims to enhance innovation, transfer skills, and create jobs within the Australian economy.

Through the GTI Program, the Australian government provides permanent residency visas, enabling new beginnings in the Land Down Under.
Eligibility for the Global Talent Visa Program
For an individual to obtain a visa under the Australian GTI Program, they must be highly skilled in one of the ten targeted sectors.

– Agri-food and AgTech
– Circular Economy
– Defence, Advanced Manufacturing, and Space
– DigiTech
– Education
– Energy
– Financial Services and FinTech
– Health Industries
– Infrastructure and Tourism
– Resources
Eligibility also requires the candidate to be able to attract a salary within any of these sectors that meets the high-income threshold.
Currently, this threshold is defined as the ability to secure a salary of at least AUD 175,000, in line with the Fair Work high-income threshold. This threshold is subject to annual adjustment.
Steps to apply for a Global Talent visa
- Apply to receive a unique identifier issued by the Global Talent Officers and
- Secure a nominator and
- If successful with these two steps, apply for the visa.
Requirements for Global Talent visa
- Valid passport
- A national ID card
- Achievement documents, any relevant qualifications, awards, certificates
- A nomination form 1000
- A statement of support from your nominator.
- Character documents
- Proof of your financial status – Sufficient amount in your bank account for your stay in Australia
- Ability to attract a salary meeting or exceeding AUD 175,000.
- Apply for a unique identifier from Global Talent Officers.
